FANS planning to travel to Telford for the 25th anniversary indoor racing in February can make a weekend of it.

The Telford Indoor Ice meetings take place on Sunday, February 26, at the Shropshire venue and once again fans from throughout the country are set to make the journey.

Once again Telford Ice organisers have joined forces with the Holiday Inn which is next door to the ice rink to offer cut price accommodation.

By calling the hotel direct on 01952 527000 and quoting reference Ice Speedway a single room will cost £51 and a double will be £61.20 including full breakfast and use of the hotel facilities for one night. The offer applies for the Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Telford promoter Graham Drury, who is about to step up his recruitment of riders for the event, said: “The timing of this event is perfect, so close to the start of the season.

“It’s an opportunity for speedway supporters to gather ahead of the 2012 season and with the agreement we have in place with the Holiday Inn they can make a weekend of it which is perfect.

“We have reserved rooms and they generally sell out so I would urge supporters who want to stay over to contact the hotel quickly.”
